Working Hand!!

Okay, so the surgery is done, and my hand feels good. I must say, I’m looking forward to getting back to writing. I still hope to finish by November.

I made it to 50k words, so really I’m over half way. Finished the story, now to flesh out the final chapters.

Probably won’t get much done for the next month, with grandkids visiting. And that’s okay! July thru October will be writing busy!!

Beach Day!

Hello,

Still not writing, get stitches out this week, but had a great day at the beach.

Reminds me of Jeffrey and Heather, hanging out in the sun together. I think all of my main characters found a way to spend time in the sun, listening to the surf, just loving it.

I hope all of you do the same. It’s worth it.

Pause

Hello,

Well, I was on a roll. Up to nearly 50k words on the next project, then had hand surgery. No writing!!

I had what’s called “trigger finger,” where a finger is locked down unless you force it up. Long story, but it was getting painful. So, surgery. The doctor apologized, because while the surgery only took 10 minutes, the process (admitting, waiting, waiting more, surgery, recovery, waiting again, discharge) took 5 hours.

Should get stitches out and bandage removed next week, then back to writing.

Typing this with my thumb is very time consuming.

Have a great week!

Still Writing

Greetings thrill seekers! The murder mystery is moving along. Got some shady characters in it. Meet Lizzy.

At the last bar, Loudmouth, the leader of the team that had captured her was there, drinking way over the limit.
“Yes, fellas, we nailed that bitch sleuth!”
“Ah, you make it sound to easy!”
“Oh, it was! She didn’t know what hit her!”
Soon he made his way to the toilet, and Lizzy followed. Inside, she bolted the door and noticed the window for an exit. Loudmouth was standing at the urinal, so she pushed him.
“What the hell?!”
“Oh, sorry, asshole, but you’re in my way.”
“You made me piss on myself, dumbass!”
“Are you finished yet?”
“Yea, and when I turn around, I’m gonna kick your ass.”
She grabbed him and spun him around before he had time to put himself back into his pants. She grabbed his cock and squeezed hard.
“How’s that feel, dumbass?”
He yelled! “Owe! Shit that hurts!” He tried to grab her and take a swing at her.
She easily evaded his attack. “You’re too drunk for a fun fair fight. But remember this. You screw around with a sleuth, you get punished.”
She released him, then kneed him hard and grabbed his head and slammed it face first onto the counter. He collapsed in a heap, unconscious, bleeding from his nose and face.
She walked over and climbed out the window. She was whistling as she walked back to the apartment. Hurting bad people always made her feel so good.

Relaxation

Good Morning!!

Such a relaxed start to the day. A cup of coffee, quiet rain echoing through the trees, a few chirping birds; nice.

Thinking about the developing storyline of The Palace Murders, and creating red herrings that are plausible, while openly showing the truth in a way to not make sense until the end.

It’s like building a maze. Fun, challenging, and entertaining. Creating and dropping clues throughout the story, but hiding the real answer until the end.

Well, that’s my day today. Hope yours is equally rewarding!

Changing Times

We live in interesting times. I know when I wrote one of my first books, a non-fiction novel book, titled, “Surviving the Radicalization of America,” I thought the times were changing. So much stress, anger, the news and political commentary going so negative. So, the current climate is not new, it is just much more intense.

Even on a fairly calm platform, like Facebook, where it used to be about sharing photos, kids, grandkids, families, vacations, etc., it has become negative. It is for that reason I decided to simply drop out of the social media technology. The world is much more peaceful when the nastiness of individual people’s anger is removed. After all, what you read or hear does shape who you are.

I had a very good page on Facebook, titled The Wilson Chronicles, located @galaxy.explore. I left a closing note there, letting people know I was dropping the page and informing of this blog. I do hope some, many, or all follow over. For those who have, welcome!

I plan on continuing to write, after all, I enjoy creating the story. In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful day, and hopefully, a joyous 2021!

The Palace Murders

The Palace Murders is the working title for my next book. The scene is the Imperial Palace, beginning the story in 347.88.16, which for those in the know, is the year 347 after Jeffrey Wilson received his trillions of dollars, or 2019+347 = 2366. It is on day 88 of that year, with the story beginning at four in the afternoon.

Murder. A terrible thing to happen. Who did it? Why do it? What was gained? Who were the victims? How were they murdered? How was the murderer found, if found at all? A telling tale of intrigue; a sleuth is discovered; royalty is undermined and threatened; so much to discover!

I am enjoying this work and hope you will as well. I plan to release this one in November, 2021. I’ll keep you posted on the plot, as it thickens!

The Imperial Counselor

PUBLISHED!!

I am so excited for this book to be on the street!! It is a beautifully crated story and one you will not want to miss. I believe this is my best work to date.

Buy the book, read it and drop me aline of review of the book. I am positive it will not dissappoint you!

Have a wonderful evening!!

It Is Done

I finished the first draft of my latest work, “The Imperial Counselor.” Wow, it has taken awhile. I started almost a year ago and planned on finishing it in the spring, then, well, 2020.

So glad to finally have this one done; except for proofing, editing, etc… that means I should still be publishing easily by November.

Sally

I have been thinking about the experience of going through Hurricane Sally. First, let me explain how it happened.

We watched as the hurricane moved, ever so slowly, northwest accross the Gulf of Mexico. It was moving at a snails pace. The forecast was for it to pass us and come on shore roughly at the Louisiana/Mississippi border. Well then it slowed even more. Then it began to meander. It simply did not go far enough west before it started drifting north, then northeast.

This put us in the general path, but the weather experts said it was not in a place conducive to strengthening, that it was showing signs of losing steam, etc. Then the landfall location kept shifting east, a little at a time.

Now we could have packed up and left at any time, but at no time did we think we were in its path. Until Monday. On Monday it showed signs of definitely heading in our direction, and then, it showed signs of strengthening.

Well, by the time we saw these factors, it was time to put up the shutters on the windows, bring everything inside, and hunker down. It was too late to evacuate. Besides, we still only expected a glancing blow of a Cat 1, so we were prepared.

Needless to say, what actually happened was this very slow moving hurricane grew to a strong Cat 2 hurricane before it came ashore. The target, where we were. The experience, well, here it is.

We began having strong winds and rain late Monday, about evening. We listened as the wind blew and the rain came down. My rain gauge measured 8 inches on Tuesday morning. I emptied it, but it fell over in the winds so I never got an accurate reading after that. But, they say we received 20 – 25 inches of rain.

On Tuesday it deteriorated, and by Tuesday night we were in a storm. By midnight, it was seriously blowing, and you could hear the occassional something hit the house. It grew to a minor roar by 1AM. By 2 AM it was a train passing through the house, with more and more things hitting the house and roof.

By 3AM it was a full fledged ROAR! It was loud, powerful and intense. About 3:30 I heard trees breaking ourside and the fence shatter. We moved to the front of the house away from any trees, but it didn’t make it any quieter. It blew and blew, roared and roared! They said it was 105 MPH sustained winds, with gusts to 120. Then suddenly, about 4:30, total quiet.

You wander if its real or if you died. It was eerie. I told my wife we were in the eye of the storm, and we waited for the same fierce winds to come at us from the other direction. Fortunately, the eye was so big and it moved so slow that the back feed was much less than the first eyewall passage.

By Wednesday afternoon the rain had stopped and we took the window shutters down and surveyed the damage. None to us, none to the house (fortunate, because some trees fell fairly close) but lots in the yard.

I personally don’t ever care to go through another Cat 2 storm. It was a sobering event, knowing you are so powerless in the face of the power of nature. In the future, even if the storm is meandering and losing strength, I think we will button up the house and head away for a couple of days.
