A Very Long Year

Hello. It’s been over a year since I posted on here, and a long year at that.

It began with lower back pain. Then I nearly tore the nail off my right big toe! Then I woke up not feeling so hot and checked my blood pressure: 214/110. So, off the the emergency room.

Long story short, they discovered a Pulmonary Embolism in my right lung, and the urologist also saw some very minor abnormal fluid flow in one small tube in my right kidney.

Fast forward, we discovered I had Stage 3 kidney cancer. The PE went away and I started chemotherapy. Since I was so healthy, they gave me the harshest combo they had. I have to tell you that it’s a very weird feeling when they sit down dressed in full protective gear to inject poison into your body.

Anyway, once the chemo was done, about a month later, I had surgery to remove my right kidney and some lymph node’s that were also infected. Good news, the pathology report said there was no evidence of anything surviving that chemo, so cancer free.

However, as it was a cancer in the lining of my kidney, I’m at high risk for bladder cancer, hence a life of scopes and scans probably for the rest of my (hopefully) long life.

So, I didn’t get any writing done. Which is ok. But I have started again, getting into the book and working it. I do hope to complete this one by fall, but we’ll see.

In the meantime, wishing you all health and peace.

Spring!!

Hello! Wow, so spring is finally here!! You know what they say, new seasons brings change!

Well, I’ve decided to slow down writing for a while and take another shot at landing an agent and publisher. I’m happy to have self published, but I’m ready to try something new.

So, I likely won’t finish my current work this year; but then again, I might! But know I’m plugging along working.

Wishing everyone a happy spring!!

Moving Along!

Hello!! Wow, how time flies!

We had a great Thanksgiving last year, then we hit the road.

Sevierville, TN. Met one of my brothers and a sister and their spouses for several days of fun, food, shopping, and just a good visit. Oh, and spent a night with my other sister on the way there.

We had a great time running around Pigeon Forge. Saw the Christmas stampede. It was excellent, with a really well choreographed live nativity as part of the show.

Bismarck, ND. Then we headed to Bismarck, because who doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to shovel snow in 40 below zero wind chills.

Seriously, we had a wonderful visit with Vic and my wife’s siblings, plus our kids and grandkids. Christmas in snow country!

Then we headed home and had clear roads all the way here, a sure sign we are meant to live by the ocean, not ice country!

Now we are home, but there’s more trips to come

Also, the new book is coming along nicely. Will let you know the name a little later, but it’ll be out by November.

My last book, The Palace Murders, is well loved by those who have read it and given me feedback. Hope you get one! Let me know what you think!

In the meantime, life is good. Go have some fun today!

The Palace Murders

It’s published!! Long awaited, wonderful story, great murder mystery!

It took a lot of effort to wrap this book up. All the delays life throws at you; but finally, it’s complete.

I believe it’s my best work to date and know you will enjoy the tale! It’s romance, mystery, danger, and a great ending!

Get yours today! Go to the My Books page and check it out!

All About Love

Really, what else matters? Love. Such a small word.

No greater love than to lay down your life for your friends.

For God so loved us that he would give his only son to die for us.

Love.

I believe we don’t even glimpse the depth of the word. But when you tell someone you love them, mean it.

Another Hurricane Done

When we moved to the gulf shores of Alabama last year, we knew we would encounter some tropical weather. However, we didn’t expect to go through a Category 3 hurricane, Sally. This year was a near miss with a Category 4 hurricane, Ida. All we had was about 8 inches of rain, some tornado warnings, and tropical storm winds. Still, it was a hurricane.

Hopefully, we won’t get that close to another one this year (or ever)! But it has provided some time to write.

I’m still hopeful that The Palace Murders will be finished by November. It’ll be close. I’m in the mid-60k word range now, so the end is in sight.

So, back to writing for me! Have a great day!!

Back in the Saddle!

Okay! All the family and friends are back home, finally getting back into writing!

Making some good moves with Lizzy! Her role is going to get a little more interesting.

It’s been a much longer time getting this book finished. Family injuries, travel, grandkids visiting all summer, friends visiting; it’s just been busy.

Interesting times. It’s cool how much I missed the writing process. Just the pure imagination of it all. Getting into the story of a mystery and getting lost in the intrigue of it all. Just fun.

Hoping now to still finish the book by November, but it’ll be close. And I want to make sure the story is good, versus simply on time.

Have a great month!!

Not what I expected!

Hello and Happy July!!

Well, I thought I was getting ready to get back into the writing of my current work, The Palace Murders, but it just didn’t happen. What did happen was grandkids for over a month!!

Yes, it was awesome, for sure; I’d do it all again anytime. But there was no time to think! So, no writing. And to top it off, I have lost my connection to the characters! So, back to the beginning to regain my mojo!

I’m still hoping for a November release, but you know, hope is not a strategy! We will see.

In the meantime, I hope you are having a great summer!! I know I am.

Take care,

Glenn
